SkillBridge Learning

About Karen Sturzaker
Educator, systems thinker, and founder of SkillBridge - focussed on building practical learning that supports both professional growth and everyday life.
Why I created SkillBridge
Over time, I began to notice that professional performance and personal wellbeing are deeply connected.
When people feel organised, supported, and capable in everyday life, they are often better equipped to lead, communicate, learn, and perform professionally.
SkillBridge was created to bring together practical learning, professional development, and sustainable life systems in one place.
The goal is not perfection or productivity pressure.
It is to create thoughtful, practical learning that helps people function more effectively - both professionally and personally.
Background & Experience
With more than 20 years of experience across education, leadership, mentoring, and project-based work, I’ve spent much of my career helping people navigate learning, growth, and change.
Holding a Bachelor of Education with Honours, my background combines teaching, program development, leadership, communication, and practical systems thinking.
Alongside professional learning, I’ve always been interested in the ways habits, organisation, wellbeing, and everyday systems influence how people function and perform over time.
That broader perspective now shapes the direction of SkillBridge.

A collaborative learning model
While SkillBridge includes my own experience and perspectives, the platform is also built around collaboration.
SkillBridge works with subject matter experts, educators, and professionals across a range of disciplines to create learning that is practical, credible, and grounded in real-world experience.
My role is to bring these ideas together into accessible, well-structured learning experiences that support ongoing personal and professional growth.
Beyond Work
Outside of professional learning, I’m interested in the systems and routines that help life function well over time.
This includes:
-
health and wellbeing
-
organisation and home systems
-
travel and independent living
-
fitness and movement
-
structured habits and routines
I believe capability is multi-dimensional.
The way we manage our homes, health, finances, relationships, and routines often influences how we show up professionally as well.
That philosophy now sits at the centre of SkillBridge.
